Andrew Sweet

Driven by an entrepreneurial spirit, Andy Sweet has made his own path through his personal and professional lives by ignoring “traditional” methods and taking the road less traveled.

During college at Clark University, he was attracted to a variety of activities outside of the classroom—including running the college radio station and booking and producing concerts within the University and local community. Sweet was also actively involved in the community through the local Boys and Girls Club and volunteered with the Special Olympics. After graduating with a B.A. in psychology in 1996, he worked in sales, marketing, and event production.

While Sweet was pursuing his MBA at Babson College, he recognized the potential of marketing products and services within the online arena, and began working as a web marketing manager for an Internet marketing company.  Finding himself drawn to the world of search engine optimization, he founded his own business, Metacrown, in 2001.

Through his accomplishments with one of Metacrown’s largest clients, The Law Offices of James Sokolove, Sweet was brought in-house to manage all web marketing activities.  During his time at Sokolove, Sweet managed pay-per-click campaigns for some of the most expensive terms on the web, which gave him unique insight into click fraud.  Due to his expertise, he was featured in articles in publication such as the Wall Street Journal and BusinessWeek.

In 2009, he launched Sweet Marketing Group with a focus on results-driven, performance-based Internet marketing. The company delivers value by prioritizing client interests, creating win-win campaigns and utilizing compensation plans that are tied directly to measurable results. Sweet Marketing Group employs a mix of tactics — including pay-per-click, lead generation, search engine optimization, search engine marketing, opt-in email newsletters, and direct navigation — to drive qualified leads to clients.

Sweet has given presentations on click fraud to the Click Quality Council and numerous marketing groups. He is also actively involved in several organizations, including the American Marketing Association, AimWest, Electronic Retailing Association, Direct Response Marketing Alliance and the Grand Rapids Chamber of Commerce.

In his free time, Sweet enjoys reading on topics such as psychology, sociology and economics as well as spending time with his family, golfing, and roasting coffee.
